GFF Newsletter: Book review season

The Global FlyFisher

Simply the Best Place to go for Online Fly Fishing and Fly Tying
Oct 3. 2016

Right now I'm out fishing... well, not right this moment of course, but this week. I'm on one of the two annual fishing trips that I go on with a bunch of friends. We fish, eat well, tie flies... and maybe drink a glass of good wine and a whiskey or two. But since I don't fish that more anymore due to my health, I do get some time to work a little on GFF - and compose this newsletter.

So, what's happened since the last newsletter? Not that much actually, even though I did publish three new book reviews: Philip White's "Observation", John L. Field's "Fly-casting Finesse" and the stunning "GT" by Peter McLeod. It's book reading season, and I do have a few more in the pipeline, so expect reviews to appear in the coming time.

During this fishing trip I will also do some photography for the article on hackle pliers, which is well on its way, and a fly pattern or two may also be finished with Step-by-step photos.
And there's of course tonnes of new videos as always - and they keep on coming.

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher was updated to a new publishing system early March 2025, and there may still be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
