As I've been settling into the new fly tying, I've been at the vise more than I have been for the past year. I've found some time to try a few new patterns, and one of them is presented here, the Brown Satyr.

Hook: Partridge CS15 #2
Thread: White flat waxed nylon
Tag: Silver embossed tinsel
Tail: Tragopan crest
Body: Brown floss (UNI)
Rib: Silver embossed tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Throat: Tragopan crestv
Wing: 4 gray hackles
Shoulder: Satyr tragopan pheasant breast feathers
Eye: Jungle cock
Head: Black
I've put this one up on auction on the streamers365 Ebay account, as well as a few Allcock (1810 and 2811) and Partridge hooks. You'll also find a Black Cat (Stevens) I tied a while back.

Darren, I don't remember seeing this before. I loved the whole fly. Especially the body and shoulder work. The choice of materials blended quite well!
