Fly fishing for bluefin tuna

No comments yet

Fishing for big tuna or false albacore is different if done by spinning compared to fly fishing: with fly line you have to get close to 20-25 meters to the feed to allow the streamer to fall into the frenzy. We will clearly hear the sound of the water exploding due to the attacks of the bluefin tuna, alletterati, tombarelli, bonito, we will see the forage fish including sardines, anchovies, mackerel splash out of the water to escape from predators; we will hear the seagulls screeching in search of a meal "to steal" from the fish. You will see all this in this video: PURE ADRENALINE!
At the end of the video you will be able to see which equipment is best suited to fishing for big bluefin tuna.

Since you got this far …

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher was updated to a new publishing system early March 2025, and there may still be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
